Ultrasound Sabbatical Program

J. Christian Fox, MD, ROMS, FACEP, FAAEM, FAIU

Professor and Chair

UC Irvine School of Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine is proud to offer a very comprehensive point-of. care ultrasound sabbatical fellowship program. The course runs for up to four months and provides participants with hands-on bed-side ultrasound clinical applications. You will practice scanning the Ultrasound Standardized Patients, and real-live patients. A solid foundation for the techniques of ultrasound arises from constant practice and guidance from an experienced sonologist. Dr. Fox and his team will review your scans on a weekly basis to ensure consistency and improvement. Once you feel comfortable using ultrasound, you will lead a teaching session for either first or second-year medical students. This process will challenge and help you master the clinical uses of ultrasound.

UCI Executive Health, in partnership with Dr. Chris Fox, recently featured as one of the "25 Top Professors of Sonography", is pleased to offer this point-of-care ultrasound course to help you become competent in ultrasound:
